Braces For Teens Stockton, CA

At Suliman Orthodontics, we provide orthodontics services for children and adults looking to straighten their teeth and align their jaw. Orthodontics is the study and treatment of dental displacement and malocclusions. As an expert at issues pertaining to the jaw, we can move and adjust teeth even if they are fully formed and hardened. This makes it possible to straighten teeth in adults, rather than children only.

ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

This is most often the preferred time to start comprehensive (full) orthodontic treatment. This stage can start soon before your last primary (baby) tooth is lost. Because growth isn’t completed yet, we have the ability to not only move teeth into their ideal position but also harness your growth potential to correct any orthopedic jaw problems. There are many options available for you to choose from. Dr. Suliman wants you to be confident in your smile not only after treatment but during treatment. So whether you prefer metal, clear ceramic braces, or Invisalign Teen, we offer several options for you to choose from. We do recommend the following choices based on popularity among our orthodontic patients.

CLEAR CERAMIC BRACES FOR TEENS

Clear braces are a popular choice for teens who want to make a lasting impression and adults who want to make a less noticeable statement during treatment. Since the introduction of ceramic braces to the market in the 1980’s, Manufacturers have significantly improved the appearance of braces. Today, these brackets offer unmatched aesthetics and proven to be as efficient as traditional metal braces. There is often a slightly higher cost for these brackets but the esthetics they offer are unmatched.

INVISALIGN® FOR TEENS

If you need orthodontic treatment, but you’re worried about how braces will look, don’t worry. Invisalign can treat many cases, and uses nearly invisible aligners that won’t show up in school photos or interfere with sports. You can also remove them to brush and floss to maintain good oral hygiene. This option is not for everyone however since compliance is very critical to the success of the treatment. Invisalign treatment consists of a series of clear aligners that are worn at least 20-22 hours a day and are changed every 1-2 weeks until treatment is completed. If worn correctly as prescribed by Dr. Suliman, then you can achieve very similar results as with conventional braces.

TRADITIONAL METAL BRACES

Metal braces offer superior durability and are considered the standard for orthodontic treatment. It is true that historically, these brackets were bulky and often unattractive, but today modern metal braces are smaller and more comfortable than ever before with low profiles making them less noticeable than the first generation metal brackets used in the 1970s. Want to see what your smile will look like with braces? Upload your photo to this link and paint your own smile. You can even compare metal to ceramic brackets to see which option looks better on your teeth.

ADULTS AND ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

Today adults are seeking orthodontic treatment at a historical rate. It is true, you are “never too old” for orthodontic treatment. In fact, almost 1 in 5 new orthodontic patients are adults. What’s the reason behind this? The availability of more attractive and esthetic alternatives. Ceramic clear brackets and Invisalign are a few of the available options. A healthy bite and a good looking smile are as important at age 60 as it is at age 16. Even though adults are no longer growing, they can still enjoy improvements that come from orthodontic treatment. Your age is not a consideration for orthodontic treatment. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age. If you are looking for clear braces, then Suliman Orthodontics is a clear choice.

For our adult patients, we recommend and provide the following treatment methods based on popularity among adult patient in our office and in the U.S.
